Borrowed Authority

If you remember my last email – you know that I’m a perpetual student of human psychology. Today we’re going to touch on borrowed authority.

Borrowed authority is piggybacking off a relationship someone else has built – “Any friend of John’s is a friend of mine!”

Ask yourself a question…

In a world where agents are the typical “go-to” authorities for the public on all things real estate – am I leveraging borrowed authority?

If not, here’s a simple tip you can start using today.

Have your agent create a new group text with the agent, the borrower, and you – then intro you using this template.

“Meet [LO Name] - One of the best mortgage guys/gals in the industry! [LO Name], this is the homebuyer we talked about. Can you reach out to get the ball rolling?”

Short, simple, and to the point!

It’s even easier if you teach your agent how to use text replacement, which means adding a shortcut on their phone to replace a specific string of letters with a word, sentence, or paragraph.

Example: Your agent could type “lointro” and their phone automatically replaces “lointro” with the introduction above. That’s SPEED!

Use these easy step-by-step instructions on How To Create a Text Replacement on iPhone & Androidto help educate your agents.
