Mindset Monday - Association

“Attitude is greatly shaped by influence and association” – Jim Rohn

There are so many great quotes on this topic it was hard to select just one, but when in doubt go with Jim Rohn.

We are constantly going struggling to stay motivated, inspired and driven.

Most days our work is full of highs and lows. We tend to allow ourselves to ride that rollercoaster.

We allow are our attitude to be impacted by those highs and lows. We allow the stress of the lows to rob our motivation and we allow the euphoria of the wins to make us complacent.

A component that most of us are missing/lacking is association with the right people. The right minds. The ones who keep our attention focused in the right direction. The people that can help us execute the right plan.

Being a originator, and running a business can be a lonely endeavor.

It’s all on you.

You are the one in the ring.

However, in a fight it’s not always the best athlete who wins. It’s the fighter with the best coach, the best sparring partners, the best habits, the best manager, and mentors. The one who associates himself with the right people that gets their hand raised.

Seek out association with people that would elevate you and your skills. Find mentors and coaches that are doing the things you want to do. Put yourself in the right rooms and exchange ideas.

If you aren’t in a mastermind, join one. If you don’t have a coach/mentor, find one.

You are the sum total of who you regularly put yourself around. Curate your associations.
