Mindset Monday - We're Halfway There
Below are a few thoughts as we hit the halfway point of 2024.
Take what serves you, leave the rest.
Your habits will determine if you make it to your version of the summit by year end. Not the market, not your competition, not rates. Your ability to execute your daily disciplines.
Don’t lose sight of the fact that you are closer to your goals than you are from where you started. The road backward is longer and harder to travel than the road forward. It doesn’t always feel that way, but it is. We over estimate what we can do in a month and underestimate what we can do in a year. Eyes fixed ahead.
Find your tribe and do life with them. Awesome convo about this on the last national sales call. Your business will be more fun and your sphere more loyal when you connect on a personal level and do life together. Seek the right members to your tribe. The people that you want to spend time around. Where there is alignment on more than just a business level. Doing business together becomes more fun and less stressful when it is with the right people. Cut the people that don’t fit. It’s difficult, but sometimes necessary.
Motivation is nonsense. It has its place and we need it from time to time. It gets you off the coach, but discipline keeps you off the couch. You don’t need to become David Goggins tomorrow. We don’t need to go 0 to 100 overnight. Small improvements every day, stacked on top of each other.
Many of us are working on ourselves every day. It important to understand that this is work, its going to be painful at times, and frankly if it isn’t then you are doing it wrong. Don’t get too wrapped up on the business version of you, make time for the best overall version of yourself. Working on yourself and personal growth will be like adding rocket fuel to your business. Find comfort in discomfort, it means you are on the right track.
Wage war on call reluctance. You have solutions to people’s problems. They need to hear from you. I struggle with this at times. I don’t always have a reason to call, and that little bit of doubt is enough to drive a wedge in between me and what I know I need to do. Sometimes people just need to hear from you, agenda free so they can ask the questions you have solutions for. Call just to connect.
Be the lighthouse for the people you are around, both personal and business. Offer perspectives and be a delusional optimist. Be the one people turn to when they are looking for a way forward. Both when seeking a mortgage and when looking for shore when they are in rough seas.
Enjoy your week. Lots of time left on the clock. Widen your lead or mount your come from behind victory. Lets roll!
