PUPPIES, PRESENCE & PERSPECTIVE

The interesting thing about coaching is that it compels us to see lessons and patterns everyday within seemingly insignificant events.  We are encouraged and taught to live at a higher level of consciousness which provides a richness to our lives and our businesses.  We find growth opportunities in the most interesting places.

Now for the story: I lost my mind for a minute and agreed to puppy sit for 5-one month old border collies. Slowing down to care of puppies requires planning, structure and a routineAll of which increases productivity.

LESSON ONE - The busier we are the more efficient we become.

When you sit on the floor with 5 wiggling fur balls who are pooping, peeing, eating and playing seemingly all at the same time, you are forced to be fully present.   Watching them and playing with them brings a sense of contentment and joy that can only be felt in the moment when you are fully where your feet are planted.

LESSON TWO-being fully present in the moments that bring great joy and contentment allows for a mental reset

When you return from a puppy reset with newfound perspective, suddenly everything that seemed so big when you left your computer appears much more manageable.

LESSON THREE-perspective drives the impact of outside circumstances-the better your perspective, the less negative impact from the things you cannot control.

CONSIDER THIS:

  • How present are you in your life?

  • What are your puppies?

  • Could your perspective use some attention?

I am a UCLA graduate and reside in CA.  Part time in Carlsbad and part time in Crestline with my beautiful but dysfunctional dog Bodie.  My family includes my wonderful son and daughter in law who live in CO and my mom who lives close by in Carlsbad.  Also blessed by two communities of close neighbors and friends. I am fortunate to spend my free time running, biking and kayaking at the beach and lake.  I also really enjoy podcasts and reading.

I started in the mortgage industry in 1985 as a part time processor (as if there is such a thing!).  My career has included processing, underwriting and producing branch manager.  I love everything mortgage!

Currently my passion lies in sharing what I have learned over the span of my life and career through coaching.  Being able to encourage people to grow into their big dreams bring me an indescribable joy.  I am honored to be able to do this with my Fairway Family members who have a shared vision and culture.
